Best Buds

Sloane and Bella....the best of friends!!  We are lucky to have a dog with the passive and laid back personality that Bella has.  It seems that Bella is a magnet for Sloane and at times vice versa!!

Santa = epic fail

Well, Santa was NOT a success this year.  Drey did awesome and was super excited to see Santa....Sloane on the other hand was NOT a fan.

This was the kiddos first day out of the house and into public in almost a week.  As last posted they were sick kiddos and unfortunately they got it all over again 2 weeks later.  It has been a difficult holiday season on the littles and the parents.  We are hoping that everyone will remain healthy from here on out and be able to enjoy the remainder of the winter. We will be taking in a couple hockeys games in GF the first weekend in January and that will kick off the new year with great fun!!

Sick Babies

Last week was a tough week on everyone. Both Sloane and Drey were sick with a nasty flu bug at the same time.  It felt like it hung on forever.  I am happy to report that everyone is back to normal.  The house has gone back to the wild, crazy, messy way it was before.  I'm soooo happy to have my healthy babies back!!  While not feeling so good they took time out for a Christmas story (in this pic).  However, for those of you who know Sloane, know that she can not sit still long enough!!....Well she sat still long enough for this picture and then the wrestling match continued!! :)

The family went to Lake Metigoshe for the long holiday weekend. It's so sad that it's the last weekend of the summer. We are not ready for the summer to be over and for fall to sent in full force. The weekends weather was definitely far from ideal and we found ourselves inside more than we would have liked. But when the sun came out or the wind died we made sure to make the best of it!! Dreyden even got a little tubing and fishing in!! This picture of my 3 favorite people was taken on Friday evening, shortly after we arrived. It's my new favorite picture!!

Just a little kiddo update:
Drey started preschool again last week. He looks forward to going, in fact we use it as a bribery tactic when he is naughty! Matt and I cross our fingers that his love for learning and school will continue for many years to come.

Sloane is on the go. She currently has 2 gears...park and reverse! She still has not conquered the forward motion on all fours, but moves around pretty good backwards. Although she has backed herself into a few tight places (under her jumper and the entertainment center). She also cut 2 more teeth this last week and now has her 4 front teeth. Time flies and it makes me sad how fast they grow up!!

Upside Down!!

We spent a chilly and windy weekend at the lake this last weekend. We had a lot of bonding time inside and at times got a little stir crazy! As usual Sloane and Drey were up for the day early and Sloane had some snuggle time with gma Chari. She tends to play with her paci's and these new ones can get a little confusing on which way is the right way. But it doesn't seem to bother her and sure is cute. Sloane is now officially up on all fours and rocking back and forth. It is only a matter of time before we will be chasing her :)

Pool Fun

The weather has been up in the 90s for the last few days. Drey enjoyed the afternoon in the pool at gma elly's house. Throughout the afternoon his race cars went threw the "car wash" and he played with his gross rubber snake. The time flew and he couldn't have spent the afternoon outside in a better way. We will miss days like these this winter when it's 30 below :(

Soooo Big

Sloane has started doing "sooooo big." Once she gets started its hard to stop her. She is usually all smiles and pretty proud of herself. As you can tell Drey has it down pretty good also!!

Sloane has become more and more active. She will be crawling in no time. Mommy and daddy better start thinking about baby proofing, cuz she will be into EVERYTHING!!! She was in for her 6 month well check and is weighing in at 18 lbs 5 oz and 27 inches long. That is half the size her brother was at this age :) Drey continues to be a huge help and loves to play with Sloane and occupy her. He is such a good big brother :)

Taking a Break

Sloane had her 6 month pictures this morning. She was super smiley and seemed to have a good time hamming it up for the camera. The model had to take a quick time out from looking cute to have a sip of milk! A sneak peek of a couple pics were posted on Facebook. Check out lovely photography for a teaser. We are so excited to see more pics. Im sure it will be hard to pick our favorites.

Searching for Sapphires

Dreyden and Grandpa David had some much needed one-on-one time this evening. After supper they spent the beautiful evening searching for pretty stones and sapphires. Drey was excited to find 1 sapphire and other pretty stones to take home for his keeping. He was very proud of his findings and had to find a safe place to store his treasures when he returned home.

Dyson Dude

I'm not sure who loves the Dyson vacuum more...mom or Drey!! He begged and begged to use the vacuum and ended up using it until the battery was almost dead. I think I found my new cleaning buddy! He's slightly OCD like his mom, so as he grows I think we will make a good pair.... And will drive daddy nuts!!! ( he likes to use the vacuum when it's little... It's just his size then!!)

It was lost but.....

.....now is found! Ok, probably not the exact giraffe that was lost, but it's twin!!! Long story short..... Drey had a giraffe, as a baby, that looked exactly like this one. The giraffe was used as part of a Halloween costume a couple years back and it was left at the bar that night. Never to be seen again.... Until now!!!

Fair 2012

Drey had a mommy/daddy day at the fair while sloane stayed with grandma Chari. Drey had a blast riding the rides and we took a break to have mini donuts and a smoothie. The weather was hot but we all had fun.

its been a long time

i have not posted anything on here in a long time.  my laptop is dying a slow and painful death.  long story short i have tons of pics on my camera and no where to download them to right now.  i just got a new phone so i'm hoping to be able to use that to keep the website updated better.  i will need to enlist some help from my fellow iphone peeps to help me out...i'm thinking a conference call to the west coast will be much needed pretty soon!! :) Pictures of our little lady and young man are soon to come.

Just a quick update on the kiddos:  Sloane will be 6 months in a couple weeks and i'm still in shock that the time has gone by so quickly already.  She definately has a personality and its slightly on the 'sassy' side.  She has 2 teeth and we continue to struggle with teething and have had no additonal pearly whites to show off (drooling, irritability, etc).  She is rolling over and sitting up.  It will be no time before she will be moving throughout the house.  She is very determined!! Dreyden will be starting a week long summer school session in a week.  He had a great time in June when he went with Brody and I'm sure that he will have as much fun the second time around.  He is loving his lake time at Metigoshe and has found a new passion for fishing off the dock.  He has become a real pro at casting and has even caught a couple fish. :) The problem is mommy has to put the worm on the hook when daddy isn't around (ICK!!)  He LOVES his sister so much and smoothers her with hugs and kisses.  He is a great help!!  We couldn't be more blessed with beautiful, healthy kiddos!!

I have been a complete slacker with the blog. So I finally sat down (after aunt colette said I needed to update!!) to update a few of the pics that we have so far. Dreyden is a GREAT big brother and is full of kisses and hugs for his little sister. He does his best to talk to her and entertain her. He always wants her to come in his room (I predict that will do a 180 in the future!!) Sloane has been a great addition to our family and we love her to pieces. We have had a few difficulties with her and she is currently on medicine for acid reflux and recently changed her formula to soy, as the doc believes she may have a milk intolerance...it seems our little lady is giving us a run for our money already!!
